When the paint had cured, two holes were drilled in the motherboard tray and a small piece of batten was attached to the back of the tray using self tapping screws.
This wooden block will rest against the cases back panel and be screwed to it from the outside. This will prevent the motherboard tray from 'flapping' when the system is transported.
The motherboard and tray were now fitted into the case along with the hard drive. Notice the CPU cooling fan? If you look closely, you will see that I made an X-Fi logo in silver foil to replace the original sticker.
The case covering was given a new coat of black dye which brought the finish “to life”. You can just make out the shine of the new dye on the top edge of the case.
